Òran Mór’s groundbreaking lunchtime theatre programme, A Play, a Pie and a Pint, began in 2004 and now commissions and produces 38 new plays a year. We produce the work of many of Scotland’s best known writers, as well as presenting the work of new young playwrights. We have also presented seasons of plays from writers from Latin America, the Arab World, China and West Africa and the Caribbean.

Plays from PPP have been seen at the Edinburgh Festival, the Belfast Festival, the Brighton Festival, the Adelaide Festival, the Island Festival in Tasmania, the Golden Mask Festival in Moscow and the Last Frontier Theatre Festival in Alaska.

We’ve also had plays from Òran Mór performed in Newcastle, Manchester, Coventry, Bristol, London, Seoul, Beirut, Milan, Amsterdam, Dublin, Bermuda and New York. The Tiny Dynamite Theatre in Philadelphia has done several seasons of A Play A Pie and a Pint and we recently got invited by the British Council in Brazil to help them set up PPP in Sao Paolo. Where Glasgow leads, the rest of the world follows!

These plays can also be performed by anyone, anywhere across the world, during the rights-free period in November-December. For more information visit www.theatreuncut.com

lice’s mum is boracic, and she is wandering the aisles of Poundland looking for summer treats. Alice reaches out to grasp a white rabbit keyring and before she knows it she is on the golden escalator to Plunderland – A parallel universe where no one pays 50pence in the pound tax, and where everything costs the same – a million – but you don’t have to pay for it if you are rich. Travel with Alice and meet Milliedum, Milliedee, The King of Clubs, The Queen of Diamonds, The Fat Cat, The Mad Banker and all your other favourite characters you love to hate.

Last Week's Winner

Congratulations to Robert Somerville who won the bottle of Malt for his review of Bridge

"Another triumph for the ppp team.

Franceschild presents us with two damaged characters in conflict with themselves, each other and the rotten hands that life has dealt them then delivers the optimistic message that where there is life there is hope. This play provides fifty minutes of pathos, comedy and drama all imbued with a tense atmosphere of impending tragedy.

It would be trite to suggest that the play has a happy ending and that our two lost souls live happily ever after but they do connect and they can at least live quietly desperately ever after."
