Countess of Fife
At Oran Mor
Insurgent alt country outfit led by legendary Rezillos’ frontwoman Fay Fife. Think of the Cramps meeting Johnny Cash.
Urban grit combined with a touch of punk and soulful, tender melodies, taking the genre to the warped frontiers of a previously unheard terrain. Fay’s authentic, original lyrics, mellifluous vocals and out-there stage presence combine in an unholy alchemy of alt country, punk and a touch of gospel.
Songs about life, sadness and badness, as well as hope and spirituality
Davey Horne is a singer-songwriter hailing from Fife, Scotland. Davey has built his sound around his three stand-out talents: his soaring voice, his multi-instrumentalism and his innate ability to craft timeless songs.
Influenced by classic songwriters such as Neil Young, Paul McCartney and Bob Dylan, Davey has combined them with his deep love for Elton John, George Harrison and David Bowie. The result is glorious, sun-drenched psych rock delivered with composure rarely seen in this day and age.
Since the release of his debut album, Davey has earned something of a reputation as an ‘artist’s artist’. This led to him being handpicked to play with New Jersey’s legendary singer-songwriter, Nicole Atkins as they toured the US, UK and Europe. LA based, Grammy-nominated producer Jonathan Wilson also asked Davey to join him on his recent tours of the UK and Europe. Elsewhere, artists such as Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds/Grinderman) have sought-out his talents.
