We were delighted to host the 2022 Òran Mór Whisky Awards in Òran Mór last night and to welcome you back to our beautiful Auditorium to celebrate the water of life, in person!
Hosted by artist Nichol Wheatley with guest speaker TJ Littlejohn, Whisky Ambassador for Diageo Reserve, the 2022 Awards saw guests from across our thriving whisky trade gather to enjoy an evening of fine food, entertainment and inspiring insights from key figures in the industry.
Whyte & Mackay’s Jura 21 was revealed as Best Newcomer, Distell’s Bain’s won Best Overseas Whisky, Edrington’s Naked Malt was crowned Best Blended Whisky, our Blind Tasting Award went to Douglas Laing’s Big Peat and Distell’s Ledaig Manzanilla won the People’s Choice Award.
The Òran Mór Whisky Awards 2022 was also a timely celebration of women in the whisky industry, with this year’s Whisky Rep of the year going to Nicola Wilson of Diageo, and Master Blender and Keeper of the Quaich Dr. Rachel Barrie picking up the accolade of Lifetime Achievement award.
