West End In Winter: Lyndsey and Kevin

Tuesday, November 5th, 2019

After receiving the wonderful news that Mr & Mrs Fox are expecting a baby in January next year, I am delighted to be looking back on their special day with us in March this year.

Lyndsey and Kevin got in contact via Wedding Venues in Scotland – a very useful website for couples looking for a Scottish wedding venue. The couple were looking for a winter wedding date in 2019, and after explaining that we offer 15% Winter Wedding discount for dates between January – March, the couple were interested in coming to have a look at our Auditorium.

Our Autumn Wedding Fayre was scheduled the week after they got in touch, so Lyndsey & Kevin had their first visit to the venue then. The couple were sold on the venue and set their wedding date for Saturday 23rd March 2019. I have to mention that Kevin was then dragged along to every single wedding fayre up until their own wedding!

Whilst getting to know Lyndsey and Kevin it became apparent that we were from the same area and actually had some friends in common.

From our Wedding Fayre the couple also booked Make Believe Events who set the room up beautifully with ivory seat pads, fairy lights, large LED love letters for dinner and floor-length ivory linen.

Another of the first suppliers that Lyndsey booked for her wedding was florist Kirsty from The Flower Shop Elderslie who always has the most stunning window displays which I actually drive by every night on my way home from work. I had worked with Kirsty in my previous job and was very excited to work with her again for the Fox wedding.

Kirsty provided large hurricane vases to line the aisle with ivory pillar candles. These candles were used again on the couple’s tables along with a simple wreath around the bottom, with hand placed rose heads. Each place setting had a personalised acrylic plaque ordered by the bride, which was placed on top of our ivory napkins with a stem of eucalyptus. Lyndsey had spent a lot of time on each and every detail of her wedding including large personalised mirrors for her welcome sign, table plan and a mirror with beautiful Polaroid pictures of Lyndsey & Kevin for displaying on the day.

On Saturday 23rd of March 2019 Kevin & his groomsmen arrived at the venue in their MacGregor & MacDuff Kilts to meet Sandy Geddes from Independent Humanist Ceremonies (a regular face in our Auditorium), followed by Lyndsey and her father shortly after. Lyndsey was dressed beautifully in an Enzoani dress from Opus Couture with her three stunning bridesmaids in pale pink slinky Keepsake dresses from Mylittlebb.co.uk. The couple tied the knot and were finally pronounced the new Mr & Mrs Fox!

After the ceremony the couple and their wedding party took to the Gallery for some group shots with Napier Wedding Photography, before heading over to the Botanic Gardens for some intimate shots on their own. The couple returned to the Auditorium to join their guests for speeches, followed by their wedding breakfast and plenty of fizz for toasting.

In the early evening Lyndsey & Kevin welcomed some evening guests, then took the dancefloor to cut their wedding cake by The Little Cake Lady who is also a supplier from Renfrewshire.

Lyndsey comes from a family of talented musicians, and had booked their evening entertainment in the form of The Brass Monkeys who are put together by friends of the families.

A special surprise was planned by the couple, for Lyndsey’s sister to perform the first few songs of the evening along with the band including their first dance. This went down a treat with their guests, when the beautifully dressed bridesmaid took to the stage, and what a gorgeous memory for Lyndsey, Kevin & the family.

The couple made sure that the last stop for pictures was Ashton Lane, where they took full advantage of fairy lights against the dark night to complete their wedding album.

I can’t thank Lyndsey and Kevin enough for choosing to have their wedding with us at Òran Mór, not only were they a delight to work with, and the best attendees at our Wedding Fayres, but the couple kindly hand wrote me a thank you card and dropped in with flowers the week after their wedding which was just beautiful. Congratulations again on the exciting baby news!
