Having friends and family who are talented or work in the industry can be extremely useful whilst planning a wedding. Maria and Richard were extremely lucky and had family who were able to help with their flowers, table signs & even had someone make them their very own Mr & Mrs sign.
But first, I need to tell you about Groom Richard’s contribution to his and Maria’s wedding stationary. When designing their wedding stationary the couple wanted to include an image of Òran Mór and Richard decided that he would draw a sketch of the building. The sketch was fantastic and was then used on the day of the wedding at the entrance to the Auditorium on a welcome sign.
Maria and Richard got married in St Columbkille’s Parish Church in Rutherglen on Saturday 7th of April 2018. The couple then joined guests back at our Auditorium for a drinks reception, 3 course wedding breakfast and evening of dancing and singing.
On the morning of the wedding the first delivery was from Richard’s family who were dropping off the flowers, beautifully put together by his mother at Janette Mitchell Flower Designs. Each table was dressed with a stunning floral centrepiece which fitted perfectly round the table signs, hand made by Richard’s dad. Each table had a tall heart shaped sign with the table number in the centre, which of course matched the flowers it was topped with. The top table was dressed beautifully in a long, low and extremely full floral runner, which looked stunning. Flowers were also left by the couple’s cake supplier Designer Cakes by Paige to finish off the 3 tiered silver and lilac wedding cake.
Richard’s dad hand made the couple’s post-box for cards and gifts, and that’s not all… Richard’s dad completely blew me away with his handmade Mr & Mrs sign. The sign was designed in wooden scripted writing and was lined with led lighting which fitted perfectly at the front of our stage. The sign completely transformed the dancefloor and was a stunning backdrop for the cake cutting, first dance & evening reception pictures.
The couple purchased a personalised cookie for every guest’s place which again fitted beautifully with their silver and lilac colour scheme.
Simon’s Studio did a fantastic job capturing all of the finer details that Maria & Richard had put so much effort in to. He also took full advantage of our many stained glass windows and colourful ceiling in the Auditorium which were used as stunning backdrops for their couple shots.
This one in particular is one of my favourite pictures in the Auditorium and I’m sure is one Maria & Richard will always treasure from their big day.
