A benefit night for a much loved and well respected musician who suffered a catastrophic brain haemorrhage whilst playing onstage. By all rights the bleeding in his brain should have killed him but has thankfully made an amazing recovery so far. He is still in hospital several months later undergoing extensive therapy and rehabilitation.
In order to come home from hospital he will require intense speech therapy, physiotherapies and equipment bought for kitting out the house. This night is part of a series of gigs north and south of the border helping to raise funds for a twanging guitar man who has brought a lot of joy to an awful lot of people. By simply still being here he has shown a tremendous amount of fight and desire to literally get back on his feet and he now needs a lot of help to make the next step in his recovery.
His musical friends and bands he has worked with will be putting on a show at Oran Mor on Saturday January 12th 2019. The line up will include The Shiverin’ Sheiks, Awkward Family Portraits and Emma & The Rag Men with more acts to be announced in the near future.
