Burns For Bairns

As part of our ‘Arts For All, All Year Round’ philosophy and our pledge to bring Burns to a new generation, we will be holding our second free event Burns For Bairns on Sun 26th January 2020.

Everyone is welcome to join us at this free event, where you will enjoy poetry and music beneath Alasdair Gray’s stunning celestial ceiling mural in Òran Mór’s Auditorium. You’ll also get the chance to see the amazing 10 paintings by Nichol Wheatley depicting Burns’ epic poem Tam O’Shanter.

We’re delighted to announce that we’ll be joined by school pupils from Carolside Primary, Milngavie Primary and Glasgow Academy this year, who will be reading some Burns poetry for us all to enjoy.

As well as performances from local school children, there will be a speech from Lesley McDonald, Education Convener for the Robert Burns World Federation, adult performances and some tasty Haggis, Neeps and Tatties!

“Gie me ae spark o’ Nature’s fire, That’s a’ the learning I desire.” Robert Burns
