For those unable to attend the official launch on Monday 14th, we are delighted to give you another opportunity to view our exciting new commission by Nichol Wheatley in Òran Mór’s Auditorium prior to installation in our main bar.
Ten bespoke large canvases depicting the tale of Burns’ masterpiece Tam O’Shanter will be housed in Òran Mór’s Victorian and Whisky Bar. In addition these Ten canvases will migrate annually to Òran Mór’s Auditorium to be exhibited at select Burns events.
Nichol has spent nearly two years creating these magnificent paintings to coincide with our National Bard’s 260th Birthday. The work has already gathered acclaim by some of Scotland’s best known Burns aficionado’s.
“But pleasures are like poppies spread, you seize the flower, it’s bloom is shed; or, like the snow-fall in the river, a moment white, then melts forever.” Rabbie Burns
