Burns For Bairns

As part of our ‘Arts For All, All Year Round’ philosophy and our pledge to bring Burns to a new generation, we held our second free Burns For Bairns event on Sun 26th January 2020.

We were delighted to be joined by children from Carolside Primary School, Milngavie Primary and Glasgow Academy this year, who read some Burns poetry for us all to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. We were amazed with the turnout on the day, and with just how much hard work each and every child had put into their performance!

We were also joined by Lesley McDonald, Education Convener for the Robert Burns World Federation, and were happy to host CHAS (Children’s Hospices Across Scotland) who ran a competition on the day,

Mumbelina is in trouble. You see, life isn’t easy when you’re short. Just ask Dec from Ant & Dec. But Mumbelina has started to shrink, rapidly!

One morning Mumbelina wakes up to discover she’s shrunk to smaller than Glasgow city council arts budget. And to make matters worse she’s been kidnapped by the wicked amphibian dark overlord Froggie Mercury.
